Maki (マキ) is a second year highschool student and she is Urushi Yaotome's best friend. She oftens ship Urushi with Ayumu Tanaka. Although the story is about shogi, Maki barely know the rules but often gets away whenever Rin Kagawa wants to play with her.
Appearance[]
Maki has a long hair with curls at the ends. She has a pretty face and always wears a cat-like smile. Boys tend to have heartwarming feelings towards her as she gets along with everyone in the school. Despite that, she doesn't show any sign of love interests yet in the manga.
Personality[]
Maki is a really cheerful girl. She is also quite mischievous when she wants to tease Urushi. Many fans called her the best wingman as she always sets up the perfect time for Ayumu and Urushi to be alone. She is also very caring although she doesn't show it much- she always hopes the best for Urushi as it's the first time Urushi has ever fallen in love with someone and she is really excited about it. Her personality often makes the viewers laugh as she always tricks airheaded characters like Ayumu, Takeru and Rin. She puts some thought when she wants to trick them but she doesn't really need to as they are quite dense sometimes.
