Urushi Yaotome arrives in the club making a hand gesture of the symbol for pawn promotion, but Ayumu Tanaka seemingly ignores her. She wonders what he is doing and he explains he is replying to a love letter. He asks her if she wants to help, but Urushi states its better if he uses his own words and she also never got such letter. Ayumu is surprised, wondering if she is just too cute to approach causing Urushi to blush. Urushi suggests that he states he is busy with shogi, but is shocked to learn that Ayumu wants to reply positively and starts to wonder if he doesn't actually like her. Struggling with the reply, Ayumu states its hard to write from a delinquent point of view and that a friend from the manga club asked him to think about that scenario. Realizing its not a real love letter, Urushi gets annoyed and tells him to do that at home as they will be playing shogi now.
